Empowering Children Through Occupational Therapy

Our Team
Bright Beginnings Occupational Therapy, is owned by occupational therapists, Heather Benedictson, and Shirley Lund. As two OT’s, who both have kids, we understand the daily challenges of raising them.
We deliver specialized group programs designed to help children grow in skills and confidence. Whether it is developing emotional regulation strategies, strengthening motor skills, or supporting participation in school and home routines, our groups are built on the belief that every child learns best through connection, play and meaningful experiences.

Our History
We met over 15 years ago when we were working in schools together. We quickly discovered our shared passion for helping children build the skills they need to thrive. From the very beginning, we discovered a shared vision: supporting children in meaningful, engaging ways that promote success in learning, play and daily routines.
Over the years, we have each gained extensive experience working with children, families, and educators. Our work has included supporting skill development in areas such as self-regulation, motor coordination, emotional literacy, and executive functioning. We have seen firsthand how children benefit from a group approach-learning alongside peers, practicing social interaction, and building confidence in a supportive environment

Our Mission
At Bright Beginnings Occupational Therapy, we specialize in helping children overcome life’s developmental challenges so they can grow, thrive, and flourish into the individuals they were created to be. Through personalized, play-based therapy and evidence-informed interventions, we support children in building the confidence, skills, and independence needed to navigate their world. Whether it’s fine motor development, sensory processing, self-regulation, or daily living skills, we are here to guide each child on their unique path to success—one bright beginning at a time.
